Lt.Gen.General Girish (Retd.) has Post Graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Management. As a Director on the Board of the company, he plays the role of Chief Mentor to the portfolio of Innovation Acceleration projects undertaken by the Team. He actively involves in mentoring these projects, in the areas of organization development, large-scale operations management and leadership development, areas that are necessary to take an innovative business idea to scale.
General Girish retired from the Indian Army in August 2006, after a distinguished career of 40 years, having reached the rank of Lt General. In his career in the Indian Army he has pioneered several initiatives in education, welfare and health for the 1.3 million strong Indian Army spread across the country including the establishment of the very popular ECHS (Ex Servicemen Health Scheme) medial program. For his distinguished services, the President of India has conferred on him the Param Vishisht Seva Medal the highest award for distinguished service in the Armed forces, and he has also been awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
Following his retirement from the Armed forces General Girish has been the Executive Vice President at DLF Properties, pioneering DLF’s property development in the State of Kerala. Under his leadership DLF launched over four large projects in Kerala and created a base of over 1400 customers and about 2 million square feet of residential space.
A specialist in macro level logistic support management, General Girish has been closely associated with the fields of equipment management, logistic support, administration, research and development and Management. He is a qualified Paratrooper with 85 descents to his credit and was a part of the Parachute Brigade during the 1971 war in Bangladesh. In addition to being a soldier, up on his passion for management teaching, he has taught a Leadership course on Management by Values at the prestigious College of Defence Management in Hyderabad.
